In addition to the innovatively thinking experts the quality of the products manufactured at the factories of International Paper Company is also guaranteed by the fact that our partner acquired an ISO 9002 quality management certification in 1994 and has been applying that ever since. The annual production of International Paper is 17 million tons and sells 4 million tons of paper products in Europe in one year. (An interesting fact: the annual copier paper usage in Hungary is estimated at 45-46,000 tons.) -Innovation: A significant portion of the Laser Copy® products is manufactured at the Kwidzyn plant. In this factory cellulose production started in 1981, then in 1985 the PM1 paper machine was started followed by the starting of the PM2 and PM3 paper machines in 1986. IP Co. purchased the factory in 1992 and has invested 450 million USD in development and modernisation. The renewal of the production equipments and the infrastructure is continuous, aiding the expansion of quality, efficiency and capacity. In 1996 the production was also started on the PM4 machine. The annual capacity of the factory is more than 800,000 tons. -Environmental protection: In 1996 the Kwidzyn plant acquired the 14.001 ISO environmental protection certification, and it adheres to its strict requirements. It also requires its suppliers to meet the provisions. Among its developments the environmental protection related solutions have a significant role. It produces its products exclusively from own produced elemental chlorid free cellulose. Its sewage treatment system cleans not only the contaminated water of the huge factory, but that of the whole city and its surroundings. Its staff are continuously participating in environmental protection, health care and work safety training.
